Hi everyone, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidently sent a message before it was ready to be sent. I’ve had to send some quick updates on my progress, only get notified an hour later that the message wasn’t completely finished or accidentally forget to end with a punctuation mark at the end of a message I’ve poured my heart into, only to have it all deleted. I know how frustrating it can be.
To make sure you never lose another important or time-sensitive message, there is a way to view your unsent messages on Facebook Messenger.
All you need to do is tap the “…” icon at the top of the conversation box and then tap the gear icon on the next page. This will bring up your “Settings” page, where you’ll find all of your unsent messages at the top.
If you want to delete them after viewing, just hit the “X” by each one.
To save yourself time in the future, go ahead and turn off Facebook Messenger notifications for when you have an unsent message. To do that, just go to your settings again and select “Notifications” on the left hand side of the screen.
Then choose “New message alerts” from the available options, then click on “On” next to where it says “[name] has a new message.” That should do it!
